FAQ

Is my data stored on a server?+
Your stories live on your device by default, with strong local encryption. Cloud sync is optional, off until you turn it on, and used only to mirror your data across your devices.
How do I export a story?+
Open any chapter, tap the share icon, and choose Export. You'll get a video file you can save to Photos or send to anyone.
How do I cancel?+
Lenz Tales is free. If you've subscribed to a future paid tier, you can cancel from your App Store or Google Play subscription settings at any time.
How do I delete my account and data?+
Visit /account/delete on this site or email support@lenztales.com with the subject line "Delete my account". We process requests within 7 business days.
What permissions does the app need, and why?+
Camera and microphone for capture; photo library to import existing moments; location to power geofence prompts (optional); notifications to remind you to capture today's roll. Each is asked for only when needed and can be revoked from your phone's settings.
Why isn't a moment showing up?+
Make sure photo library access is granted with full access (not limited). On Android 14+, granular media permissions need both photo and video selected. Pull to refresh on the import screen.
How do I switch between accounts?+
From Settings → Account, tap Sign out, then sign in with another email. Stories on this device stay encrypted until the matching account signs back in.
